Ira Riklis – Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Ira D. Riklis has served as Chairman & CEO of COPS Monitoring since 1989. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations while primarily focusing on the development and execution of the company’s long-term strategic vision.

Under Mr. Riklis’ leadership, COPS Monitoring has transformed from a small security monitoring operation into the nation’s leading provider of wholesale alarm monitoring services. Today, the company delivers advanced solutions across a wide range of verticals, including security alarms, fire alarms, PERS (Personal Emergency Response Systems), medical alerts, two-way voice, video surveillance, environmental monitoring, and critical process monitoring. During his tenure, the company has expanded its subscriber base from fewer than 20,000 accounts to well over two million, and supports nearly one in four retail alarm companies across the United States.  As a measure of the growth, today the monthly EBITDA is double what the annual REVENUE was at the time he became the CEO.

Mr. Riklis is a double alumnus of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a post-graduate MBA.  He was among the first students to study and earn a degree in the then-emerging discipline of Management of Entrepreneurship.

He currently resides in Atlantic Beach, New York, with his wife of 52 years.  Together they have two daughters and seven grandchildren (and depending on whether you want to count them, three granddogs).
